please tell me bout it.
they use a puppet or a doll or something i guess, then they use their voice(changed voice)to communicate with audience...
how they do it?I`m quite confuse with ventriloquist, how they change their voice and talk while mouth is close?
A good ventriloquist uses two special techniques to bring their puppets (called dummies) to life:
First, they learn to speak as clearly as possible without moving their lips, forming words only with the teeth, the tongue and the palate, substituting familiar sounds for those made with the lips. As for changing their voices, it's something almost anyone can do; usually the voice of the dummy has a higher or lower pitch, or a dialect; something different from the ventriloquist's normal speaking voice. Both these techniques can be learned with a lot of practice.
The second technique is learning how to misdirect an audience's attention from themselves to that of the dummy. An important part of a puppet's character is the way it moves and reacts to what's going on, and what it does while it's speaking. The ventriloquist controls the actions of the dummy, drawing the attention of the audience and himself to the dummy, while providing the puppet's voice.
Some ventriloquists, like Ronn Lucas, have perfected both techniques so well that they can let an audience believe that nearly anything can talk. Another great ventriloquist was Paul Winchell (who also provided the voice for Tigger in the Walt Disney Winnie-the-Pooh animated films. There are websites both for Ronn Lucas and the late Paul Winchell.
One of the great ventriloquists of the last century, Edgar Bergen, could never quite stop his lips from moving, but his creations of characters for his dummies and his way of seeming to bring them to life enchanted audiences for decades. He even starred in his own radio show for many years.I`m quite confuse with ventriloquist, how they change their voice and talk while mouth is close?
they keep their mouth open a little bit and try not to move their jaw.
