I'm using Garage Band on my mac to make a song with some friends of mine... But I need to know how to change the octave to make me sound as though I'm singing an octave up. I have tried AU Pitch, but the result sounds a little inhuman... Any suggestions? what other effect could I use?How to change voice octave on Garage Band?
I was using GarageBand the other day and discovered how to do it by accident.
So pretty much, you will have the recording open and selected in GarageBand. It is important that it the track is Purple and not Orange otherwise you won't be able to do it. The ';track editor'; (command 'E') will also need to be open.
Once you have done this you will see, in the track editor, in the left column that says ';Region';, that there will be an option that says ';Region Pitch';. Moving the bar to the left is going to make your voice sound deeper, and obviously to the right it will sound higher. You will only need to move it over to about 2 or 3 (depending on what you want it to sound like) to get it to sound still human, but higher.
This SHOULD work, however if it doesn't go back over the steps to see if you have everything covered. Otherwise you will need to change around some things in the track editor so that the Region Pitch is selectable.
