How can i change my voice to sing rock songs ?

i am a fan of 3dg and i sing their songs everyday at home. its not that i'm a bad singer cause im not. but the problem is that my voice sounds like jesse mccartney. im not sayin that hes a bad singer but i just want a rocking voice (which jesse mccartney doesnt have). i want to sing like 3dgHow can i change my voice to sing rock songs ?
Both singers are tenors and do the same things with their voice. They sound different because they have different kind of tenor voices and use different kinds of vocal effects and degrees of multi-tracking. They also have slightly different influences, but those don't make a huge difference to the sound.



The guy in 3dg uses a lot more effects that make him sound heavier and deeper than he really is. With the proper effects like compression, reverb and delay even somebody like Jesse McCartney can sound as heavy. It just depends on what somebody in a studio or live in eviroment is going for.



A singer can't and shouldn't try to make their own voice sound heavy or more rocking. That's asking for trouble and vocal problems. You have to use your own kind of voice and sing and use it the particular way it's meant to be used. The professionals use effects if they want to change it up a bit. That's why both this Jessie McCartney and that 3dg guy use effects. They go for particular sounds and use them to enhance the qualities they are going for. They won't damage their voice and it allows them to sing things in a way they couldn't naturally sing them while they sing normally.



Soo uhh, if you want to sing like that guy in dg3. Get a vocal processor. A rack unit or one of those pedal board things. That'll get you to sound like a rock singer.How can i change my voice to sing rock songs ?
