AUDACITY HELP! Changing voice from male to female?

how do i change a male voice to a female voice? What pitch do I change it to?



For example:



Pitch: From: F Down/Up To: ???AUDACITY HELP! Changing voice from male to female?
I would change the pitch an octave. From F up to F. If it doesn't recognize octaves (I have no idea if it does or not seeing that I have never needed to change a track that much), the go from F up to E. However, beware of echoing and distortion. These things will occur in Audacity if the track is altered too much. Hope this helps.

Ok. I tried it. F up to F won't do anything, and F up to E sounds like the chipmunks. However, F up to C sounds great.
