How to change your voice or talk in an accent?

Over the course of last summer, I was able to directly imitate Heath Ledger's Joker after about a week of continually watching clips and repeating lines. I'm guessing it's so easy to do because it's a higher pitched voice.



I'm wondering if anyone has tips on how to impersonate many different voices %26amp; accents? I'd like to talk in an Irish/Scottish accent, but I'm not sure how I practice.How to change your voice or talk in an accent?
