Where can I find a method to change my voice over the computer microphone?

I'm looking for a way to alter my voice to make it sound like a robot or an alien or a different wav file(like a violin) when I record with any sound recorder in real time.

Example, I setup some programs, I start up my voice recorder, I click on record and say something in the microphone.

I stop recording and click on play to hear my alterd voice as a result.

How can this be done?Where can I find a method to change my voice over the computer microphone?
I'm not sure I understand how your voice recorder is set up to record. If it's a stand alone recorder that's cabled to your computer, you'd probably have to get a separate voice changer similar to what might be hooked up to a telephone:

But if you need a separate software program to record and then alter your voice, you could try this freebie from Audacity:

And then there's voice changing software that can be installed on your computer for gaming, etc.:
